Joni (aka Jodie) – ADOPTED!

Joni and her sister Jolene came into the rescue about 3 months ago.  Jolene found a home very quickly.  Joni broke her leg, and needed to have surgery to repair it.  So she stayed with us until she was all healed up and ready to run again.

Joni and Jolene are so similar in looks and personality.  They are Chihuahua x Schipperke.  Joni is about 10 months old now, and full of energy after being confined during her healing time.  She is now housebroken, and listens very well.  Her fear of humans has lessened so much it is like she is a totally different dog then when she first came in.

She is a super fast runner, and she loves to play with the other dogs.  She is fine with cats too.  She would prefer a home without young children as she is still somewhat fearful of quick movements.  She needs a ton of chew toys cause that is one of her favorite things to do.  She herds her human as the Schipperke does and loves to cuddle like a chihuahua.

Joni has been spayed, dewormed, revolutioned and fully vaccinated.  Her leg has completely healed and the pins have been removed.  Joni’s adoption fee is $495.  If you have questions or would like to receive an application to adopt her, please email us at dhanametta@yahoo.ca

Max – ADOPTED

Max is a sweet boy of 7 years.  He is a shihtzu, weighing in at 15lbs. It is sad when a family decides to give up a family member after so many years.  Max is a little confused, as he ended up in a local shelter before coming into our rescue.

Max

He is very quiet so far, and very well behaved.  All he wants is to be coddled, however we have decided to teach him how to be independent. He is fine when left alone during the day, and is getting used to sleeping in a crate, even though he doesn’t need to be, as he is fully housebroken.

He is very mellow, and laid back.  He would probably really enjoy a quiet home where he can relax and lounge around, or he would be fine with another doggie companion too.  He gets along great with other dogs, and with cats.  We are still needing to test him with children though.  So for now, we can’t say if he is OK with them or not.

Max is not impressed

Max is neutered and tattooed.  He is up to date with his vaccines and he has been dewormed and flea treated.
Max’s adoption fee is $195.  An adoption application and home visit is required.  Please email for an adoption application at dhanametta@yahoo.ca

Marshall – ADOPTED

Update on Marshall – July 23, 2009

Marshall has found a foster home and has been doing extremely well there.  He is as soft as I thought he was, cuddly, and affectionate.  Still a little nervous of strangers, but adapting very well to a home with way less dogs than here at the rescue.

He is still however, waiting for his forever human.  One that can be patient, understanding, and experienced with rescue chihuahuas.  He should not be in a home with children, but loves other dogs.

__________________________________________________________________

He was picked up on the streets of California as a stray.  Nobody ever came to claim him.  He was put on the red list – and given 3 days to be adopted.  His time was almost up, and was pulled by another rescue just in the nick of time.

Fidel

He was sent to our rescue here in Vancouver, and is ready for his forever home.  He is very skinny, and sure could stand to gain a few pounds.  He is tiny, about 4lbs right now.  He has been a perfect gentleman with all the other dogs here, and ignores Bob the cat.  However, when someone new comes over, it takes him some time to assess this new person before he decides to accept them.  NO CHILDREN.

He sure is a real sweetie, and he gives me those I love you eyes, like most chihuahuas do.  He really does like to cuddle (once he deems you suitable for him).  He is crate trained, and likes to go there to sleep.  He doesn’t cry or scream once in his crate, but feels very comfortable.  If you are that forever human that Sidekick has been waiting for, please email us at dhanametta@yahoo.ca for an adoption application.  Home visits are required.

Fidel aka MarshallMarshall’s  adoption fee is $295, he has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea treated.

Montgomery (formerly known as T-Bone) – ADOPTED

Yes we know, we keep changing his name, but really T-Bone was an AWFUL name, and then we tried out Jar Jar, still not what we were looking for, but Gail mentioned Montgomery, Monty for short, and you know what…that is the best so far!!  Let’s keep it!

Monty is a beautiful 2 year old purebred dapple Doxie.  He is neutered, vaccinated and has gone through extensive training with The Fox and Her Hounds.

T-Bone

Monty  would make a wonderful companion.  He knows his commands.  He is also completely house broken. He doesn’t like cats, and he can be a dominant weenie with other dogs.  He needs a family that will take leadership and guide Monty with discipline and love.

T-Bone

Monty would prefer a home without small children.  We would like to find a family that will continue to be consistent with his training, but one who also has a ton of love to give him.  His adoption fee $295.  An adoption application and home visit is required.

Please contact us at dhanametta@yahoo.ca for an adoption application.

Remy the Miniature Pinscher – Adopted

Remy is a beautiful 1 year old MinPin.  He is a high energy dog, he loves to run and play with other dogs.  He is like a mini greyhound, fast and stealth. He has been with us for about a month and learned that being left alone ain’t so bad, cause foster mom always comes back.  He would love someone who can spend time with him, he loves to cuddle and be a lap dog.  He would prefer a home without small children, he is housebroken, gets along great with other dogs and even with cats.

Remy

Remy’s adoption fee is $395.  He is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and flea treated.  Please email us for an adoption application at dhanametta@yahoo.ca.  Home visits are required.

Oh, I forgot to mention that Remy is a B.C. DOG!!

BONGO – adopted

Bongo is a 2 1/2 year old Bichon Shihtzu, weighing in at about 25lbs.  He is solid, and a bit on the heavy side.  He is a great dog!!  Very easy.  Listens exceptionally well, walks great on a leash, and likes to just lounge around.  He is crate trained and house broken.  He is fine with cats and other dogs too.

Bongo

Bongo would like to live the rest of his life without children.  We have tested Bongo with kids, and even though he is very tolerant of them, he really would prefer a home without.  His previous family had children that were absolutely cruel to Bongo, no dog should have to endure what they did to him.  Bongo is also a little leary of some men.  He has never bitten or attempted to bite children or men, he simply just walks away.

We think that Bongo would like another doggie friend to hang out with during the day while his humans are out, but this is not mandatory.  Bongo’s adoption fee is $395, he is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea treated.  $100 of his adoption fee will go to support Ella’s surgery (see previous posts).

If you are interested in giving Bongo a forever home, please email us at dhanametta@yahoo.ca for an application.  HOME VISITS ARE REQUIRED.

Stewart – Adopted

Stewart is a 2 year old Shihtzu Bichon Cross.  He is a little higher energy and smaller than Bongo, and more light hearted in his play. When he gets overly excited he nips your hands, but that is all a matter of explaining to him what is OK and what is not.  He walks great on leash, is confident in himself, house broken, crate trained, and has just a tiny bit of separation anxiety.

Stewart

We were told that Stewart was not good with kids, however we have not had the chance to test him with any.  Because of this, we hope to find a home with older children only.  Stewart is currently in a foster home and his foster dad thinks he’s sweet!  If you are interested in adopting Stewart, please email us for an application at dhanametta@yahoo.caHOME VISITS ARE REQUIRED.

Stewarts adoption fee is $395, he has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treated.  ($100 of Stewart’s adoption fee will go towards Ella’s surgery fund – see older posts for more info on Ella)

BAT has found his forever home!

UPDATE ON BAT!!!  MAY 18, 2009

It took 3/4 of a year, and Bat has finally found his true love!!  She didn’t even know he existed, she didn’t know about our rescue, they just happened to meet one day and it was instant love for one another.  Ah, love at first sight….how many of us experience that? Bat gets to spend his time with his new mom, who spends most of her time out in her beautiful peaceful garden, with Bat by her side the whole time.

It took a few tries, and a very understanding, wonderful foster mom who cared for him this entire time of waiting…Thank You Gail Fox!!!  I wish I had more foster homes like you!  There were lots of tears when saying goodbye to Bat – I am sure of that!

Minnie Driver – ADOPTED

Minnie is a 3 year old Shihtzu that was surrendered to a shelter in Northern BC.  She was not enjoying shelter life and came here to our rescue.  She is a quiet little girl, shy but warms up quickly.  She would like to sit in your lap all day, but is OK with being left alone in the house.

Minnie

She is a wonderful little dog, likes to cuddle, a little on the thin side.  She is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed and flea treated.  She needs to go to a home where there is a safe fenced yard, with no small children.  Older children are just fine we think, but to be totally honest we have not tested her with kids yet.

Minnie’s adoption fee is $295.  If you are interested in giving her a forever home, please contact us at dhanametta@yahoo.ca for an adoption application.  Home visits are required.

Jolene, Jolene Jolene JOLEENENEEE!! – ADOPTED

Jolene is a sweet, timid little Chihuahua x Schipperke.  She is about 7 months old, and weighs in at 8 lbs.  She takes some time to warm up to people as she seems to have been badly abused in her short lifetime.  But once she does, she will stick right by your side and give you unconditional love and cuddles.

Jolene

Jolene would like to be in a home without young children, given her past. She needs gentle training and correction. Her foster mom is still working on her housebreaking. She learns fast and loves to run fast in the yard! She wants to own many many chew toys, and have a fancy bed.  Jolene is a BC dog!

Emma

Jolene’s adoption fee is $395, spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treated and tattooed. Please email us for an adoption application if you are interested in giving her a forever loving home. Home visits are required.
