Meg is a Louisiana puppymill rescue. She was left behind with a few other chihuahuas and such when the owners pulled a midnight moveout. She was pregnant when she arrived here in Vancouver. Meg is a Miniature Pinscher and she had 4 beautiful little puppies. We believe they are MinPin x Chihuahuas.

We are looking for homes for Meg and her puppies. Not all together of course…LOL. Meg is around 3 years old, after she finishes lactating and her poor sore breasts get smaller from no longer having to nurse, she will be spayed and tattooed. There are 3 female puppies and one male.

This puppy has been adopted
Blossom female is ADOPTED
The puppies are currently 8 weeks old, and will not be going to their forever families until they are at least 10 weeks old.

GINGKO ADOPTED

TITAN male ADOPTION PENDING
Meg’s adoption fee is $395, she will be spayed, tattooed, dewormed, flea treatment, and vaccinated. The puppies are $450 each. All puppies will come with a spay/neuter certificate, tattoo, first boosters, deworming, and flea treatment.
Please contact us for an adoption application at dhanametta@yahoo.ca, homevisits are required.

Mudd is too funny!! I can’t believe that someone would produce this breed, but it’s kinda cute! He is a Shiba Inu Boston Terrier Cross. He is 7 months old weighing in at 13lbs. He is a high energy puppy who has not had much in the way of manner management until he arrived here. He needs a family who will be responsible and motivated enough to train him and be consistent throughout his life (as with all dogs).

He is already learning to sit instantly on command, is a very smart little dude and will learn quickly. He would prefer to be in a home with older children as he gets way too excited around the little ones. He needs lots of exercise like all Bostons do, and the discipline that Shibas do. But he also loves to be hugged and praised….well you know we all need affection in our lives.
Mudd’s adoption fee is $395, he has been neutered, vaccinated, tattooed, dewormed, and flea treated. Please email us for an adoption application at dhanametta@yahoo.ca. Home visits are required.
And MUDD is also a B.C. DOG!!!!!

Linus and Olivia are Basset Hound crosses, but they don’t seem to have those short legs and long bodies, so your guess is as good as ours. They are 13 weeks old now and weighing in at 13 lbs. Though their personalities are relaxed like a basset, they play like puppies.

Linus and Olivia seem very attached to eachother. If you pick one up the other one cries. Maybe they could find a home together, but they would adjust over time if separated. They arrived on March 8, and have been in foster care since. They have been dewormed, vaccinated, vet checked. And their adoption fee includes their spay and neuter plus tattoo.
These pups do not look like they are going to be small dogs, but nonetheless they are adorable and very good!
If you are interested in giving a wonderful home to these great pups together or individually, please email us at dhanametta@yahoo.ca for an adoption application. Home visits are mandatory. Adoption fee $495.

UPDATE ON ELLA
We didn’t have much luck raising the money needed for Ella’s surgery. We only reached a total of approximately $700. Time was running out. Ever since Ella came into our care, one of the surgeons at Canada West was very interested in her. We had many discussions, and their family also had many discussions.
Their family had always wanted a dog, but were concerned about allergies, so we decided to let them take Ella home to see how things went. Needless to say, things went wonderfully and they decided to adopt Ella.
The great part about the surgeon adopting Ella was that she would get her surgery, even though we had only raised $700. She got her surgery and she got her forever home.
We thank all those that contributed to Ella’s cause, the foster families that cared for her in the interm, all the selfless folks that were interested in adopting her, and we give a huge thank you to the folks at Canada West Veterinary Specialists.
Namaste

Trouble is a tiny little girl weighing in at 6 lbs. She is almost 16 weeks old now. Trouble is very timid and shy, and needs a patient, quiet home who is willing to spend the time needed for her to adjust to new surroundings and new people. She is sweet, high energy, loves cuddles, great with dogs and cats, but would prefer a home without children. A nice retired couple or individual would be her first choice, as she loves to cuddle while watching TV.
We think she is a chihuahua terrier, being that she hasn’t gained more than 1/5 of a lb since she arrived. We were told she was a doxie spaniel, but who really knows. All I know is that she deserves the best home we can find for her.
If you are interested in providing Trouble a forever home, please email us for an adoption application at dhanametta@yahoo.ca.
Adoption fee $450, includes all 3 sets of vaccines, tattoo, spay, deworm and flea treatment. Application and home visit apply.

Stumpy was the shortest and smallest of his siblings. And he is the only one left. He is a standard Rat Terrier. He is 10 weeks old. His mom was rescued from a high kill shelter in Louisiana and got a chance to have her babies in a loving home. She has found herself a wonderful place to live out her life, and now her littlest one needs a place to be too.

We urge all interested parties to DO THEIR RESEARCH on RAT TERRIERS and their personalities They are High Energy dogs, and are very tenacious. The family that wants to make Stumpy their pal must have enough time to exercise him and give him enough stimulation during his days.

We wlll accept applications for Stumpy and out of those applications we will choose the best matches to do home visits with. We are sorry that sometimes we cannot do home visits with every applicant.
Stumpy’s adoption fee is $495 including his neuter, tattoo, deworming, all 3 sets of vaccines, and flea treatment. If you are interested in adopting Stumpy, please email us for an adoption application. Home visits are mandatory. Serious Inquiries only please.

Chapman was found on a Norther BC Reserve. He was being badly abused by a couple of children there. To those children, Chapman was simply a little stuffed animal with no feelings. Dragging him around on a rope, manhandling him and hitting him, he is simply too young to have already gone through this, and no dog should ever have to go through this kind of abuse.
Needless to say, Chapman is a very sensitive soul, needing a home that is gentle in all ways including with their method of training. Chapman is a very sweet boy, and very mellow. He just wants to hang out with his loving humans. He is terrified of stairs and simply will not do them. Even putting him on the stairs halfway, he freaks out and falls down the lower half. He cannot be touched in certain ways, as he will scream from fear of being hurt again. He wants to be approached gently to be picked up, grabbing at him is terrifying.
We would encourage his new family to understand that he does not want to go to a home with children. He is wonderful with other dogs and even with cats. He is approximately 12 weeks old and we have no idea what breed of dog he is. We are guessing a border collie mix?

Are you the perfect home for Chapman? If you feel you can give him what he deserves, please email us for an adoption application at dhanametta@yahoo.ca
A home visit is also mandatory. Chapman’s adoption fee is $395 (sorry for previous typo), with neuter, tattoo, deworming, and he has had his first set of vaccines so far.

Luna and Ivy are sisters, they are Labrador x Bluetick Coonhounds. They are about 4 months old and weigh in at 14lbs right now. They are going to be on the larger side. Both came very timid and scared, it took them some time to warm up to people. They are still working on their housetraining techniques, so a patient home that is willing to guide them along would be preferred. They are great with other dogs, and cats, but have not been tested with young children. I am sure they would prefer older kids, as loud noises are scary still.

IVY – ADOPTED

LUNA – adopted
Ivy is very attached to Nanook the Husky, and would probably really love to find a home together if possible. They are so cute together, I will try to snag a shot of them cuddling.
Adoption fee for Luna or Ivy – $395, with spay, vaccines, tattoo, deworming, flea treatment.
If you are interested in adopting please email us at dhanametta@yahoo.ca for an ADOPTION APPLICATION, home visits are mandatory.

Nanook is a 6 month old Husky Cross. He is a sweet, lovable, big lug. Very people oriented, willing to please, but would also love a human to provide leadership for him to thrive. He is fully housebroken, great with other dogs of all sizes, good with cats, haven’t tested him around small children though. But he is a gentle giant. Weighing in at 45lbs already, he will be a very large boy.

Nanook’s adoption fee is $395, he is neutered, vaccinated, tattooed, dewormed, and flea treated. If you are interested in giving this beautiful soul a forever home, please email us at dhanametta@yahoo.ca for an ADOPTION APPLICATION, a home visit is also mandatory.

These beautiful puppies had their second chance given to them when a Louisiana shelter worker could not watch pregnant moms weeks from giving birth being spayed, and the pups aborted.
She took the moms into her home to allow them to have and raise their babies. Lucky to avoid having such an invasive surgery. The pups from a few different moms and pops, and at 9 weeks of age they were sent to Vancouver to find their forever homes.
The adoption rate in Louisiana is 4% per year. 150 dogs, pups and adults are euthanized or gassed in one week at only one shelter. Pups are euthanized because the shelters cannot avoid them getting sick. We wish we could save them all, but we feel even helping in small ways makes a difference.
If you feel you are ready to give your love to a new pup, and are aware of what puppies need in the way of healthcare, nutrition and training, please email us for an adoption application. Home visits are mandatory. Adoption fee for Louisiana puppies $495 with spay/neuter, 1st, 2nd and 3rd vaccinations, tattoo, deworming, flea treatment.
